The 9″ capacitive touch display supports a WSVGA resolution (1,024 x 600 pixel). This provides an expansive viewing experience that makes map reading easier, clarity of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto™ or Pioneer user interfaces clearer and also enables powerful and impressive video & still images when compared to traditional WVGA screens.

The design of the DMH-ZF8550BT structure is unique, combining a universal 1-DIN size chassis with a large 9-inch display that can be configured for installation either as a floating mount type applicable to most vehicles1 or as an in-dash flush mount type in specific compatible vehicles2.  When installed as a floating mount type, the screen offers horizontal, vertical and tilt adjustability to ensure the best fit and usability in the vehicle’s dash*.

Light / Dark mode for enhanced visibility – By changing the colors of the UI background and text, visibility and legibility can be optimized based on the ambient light conditions, such as day or night. Light mode is intended to reduce the effect of ambient light reflections in bright conditions (daytime), while Dark mode may help to reduce screen glare in dark conditions (nighttime).  Light / Dark mode can be selected manually or set to automatically correspond to the time of day and/or illumination settings of the vehicle*.

*Requires connection to a compatible vehicle illumination circuit of the vehicle during installation.  Third-party installation adapter or interface may be required, sold separately.

WebLink® enables a compatible smartphone with the WebLink Host app installed to display and control compatible third-party applications from the in-dash receiver touchscreen4.  WebLink compatible apps provide services such as turn-by-turn navigation (i.e. Waze®), point of interest information and reviews, restaurant reservations, music entertainment, and more5. WebLink enables this Pioneer receiver to deliver a modern infotainment system.

Additionally, with the built-in WebLink® Host application and a USB connection, drivers can also use the WebLink® Cast feature to mirror and interact with their iOS or Android smartphone’s screen on the receivers’ displays and access virtually all the same powerful navigation, communication, productivity and entertainment apps on a bigger screen and driver-friendly format.

Using the new Pioneer “CarAVAssist” smartphone app users can customize the display on their compatible multimedia receiver including adding your own background image and perform OTA (Over The Air) firmware updates*. Pioneer is letting you be the driver like never before!

*Access to the Pioneer CarAVAssist app and mobile data required.

You can now simultaneously connect and control 2 x smartphones via Bluetooth. The auto connection function automatically pairs the two phone so incoming calls can be picked up by either of the paired phones. No more having to pair and un-pair devices. Bluetooth Audio Streaming (A2DP, AVRCP 1.6) makes it possible to display information embedded in songs.
